What is FAFSA

FAFSA is an application used to determine financial need and eligibility for all financial aid programs, including grants, federal student loans, and work-study.

What is CADAA

The CADAA allows eligible undocumented students to apply for state financial aid under the California Dream Act, which includes grants such as the College Promise Grant and Cal Grant. Please note: The information you provide when you complete the CADAA is never shared with any federal agencies and is only used to determine your eligibility for financial aid offered by the state and colleges in California.

What is the difference between Grants, Loans and Work study?

  1. Grants: FREE MONEY as long as you meet eligibility requirements.
  1. Loans: Borrowed money that must be repaid with interest.
  1. Work-Study: A federal work program that offers part-time jobs for students with financial need.

Important Dates:

October 1st: The new FAFSA and CADAA are available for the next academic year.

March 2nd: Deadline for submitting the FAFSA and CADAA to apply for Cal Grants.
