Transfer Admission Programs

Transfer admission programs help students make their transfer dreams a reality through either guaranteed or priority admission consideration. Explore the tabs below to learn about different transfer admission programs and find out which options may fit your transfer goals.

 

Six University of California (UC) campuses offer guaranteed admissions through UC TAG to students transferring from a California community colleges. The participating UCs include (some majors are excluded):

  • University of California, Davis
  • University of California, Irvine
  • University of California, Merced
  • University of California, Riverside
  • University of California, Santa Barbara
  • University of California, Santa Cruz

Students who are interested in TAG must meet campus-specific
requirements to qualify
. Meet with a counselor early to ensure you will be on track for TAG requirements!

TAG students must complete an additional application via the UC Transfer Admission Planner.

The CSU Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) offers first-time college students a guaranteed admission pathway into a specific CSU campus and major. Students must sign up in the beginning of their first semester enrolled at SCC via the CSU Transfer Planner.

  • By entering into a TSP agreement, students have a guaranteed
    pathway available. However, they are not required to transfer to the school/major in their TSP. There is also no cost to apply for TSP.

An Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T or AS-T) is a degree students can achieve from SCC in many of the most popular majors.

By receiving the degree, students have an admission guarantee into the CSU system (not a specific campus) in a similar major. When applying to “similar majors,” other benefits include:

  • 0.1 GPA bump for admissions consideration
  • Guaranteed to be able to graduate from a CSU in 60 units

Chapman C-TAG for Future Educators

  • By completing the C-TAG Pathway courses at SCC with the specified GPA, students are guaranteed admission into Chapman’s Liberal Studies major, a program built for future elementary and special education teachers.

UCLA's TAP program is available for students who will complete the SCC Honors Program. This program is not a guarantee but offers priority admission consideration for UCLA majors in “the College,” as well as the following majors: public health, public affairs and education and social transformation.

This program is a pathway into a Master of Science degree at UCI in Business Analytics, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Finance, Professional Accountancy, or Management. The program is available to SCC students who transfer to any major at any university! Students must apply to AMPP-B, complete all requirements of UCI's Transfer Prep Program, and maintain a minimum 3.0 in any major while enrolled in the program (including both at SCC and during undergraduate studies at a university). Arizona State University offers a guaranteed admission pathway through the MyPath2Asu program. Students can view eligible majors and see requirements by making a MyPath2ASU account.

SNHU makes it easier for students enrolled in select ADT programs to transfer to SNHU to complete their degree fully online at a discounted tuition rate. Students who are able to transfer through this program will:

  • Be guaranteed admission
  • Be granted junior-level standing
  • Can complete a similar Bachelor's degree with 60 units

The California Community Colleges Transfer Guarantee to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Program makes it easy for students to get from a California community college to an HBCU.

  • This program simplifies the transfer process and reduces the need for students to take unnecessary courses, which shortens the time it takes to get a degree and saves money along the way.
  • 35 HBCU institutions participate.

Partnership with KGI for students to transfer directly into the PharmD program from SCC. The program is designed to be completed in 6 years (2 years at SCC + 4 years at KGI).

  • Special admission consideration and scholarship opportunities available to SCC students

National university offers guaranteed admission for students who complete an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) at SCC. Students who transfer to National University from SCC are able to retain all earned credits and enter with junior standing. Students to transfer to National University with an ADT are also eligible for the CCC-ADT Transfer Scholarship. Through this scholarship, students can complete a bachelor's degree in 90 quarter units or less and pay just $7,000 per year for tuition (assumes 8 courses per year at about $880 per course, max 20 courses).
