Chemistry Placement Test

The Chemistry Assessment is for those students wanting to challenge the CHEM-100 Intro
Chemistry prerequisite for CHEM-200A General Chemistry. By passing the Chemistry
Assessment it will allow you to take CHEM-200A General Chemistry.

Testing Appointment

Come Prepared!

1. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Late students will not be allowed
   in the classroom. As this is disruptive to the other students testing.
2. Bring a picture Identification (SCC Picture ID, Driver’s License, passport).
3. Pay for a daily parking pass (if you do not have a current parking permit.
   

 

What to Expect on your Testing Day

• On day of your appointment, you will be given one hour to complete 44 multiple choice questions.
• Passing score of 22 is required to enroll in CHEM-200A at Santiago Canyon College.
• SCC Chemistry Placement results are valid for 5 years.
• Please do not bring any materials to the test. A basic calculator and periodic table will be provided to you during your exam.
• No cellphones allowed during exam
• Students are allowed to take the Re-Test based on availability, please call the SCC Counseling Office for availability (714)628-4800
• SCC does not accept Chemistry Placement results from other colleges.
