Laptop Loaner Program

The Laptop Loaner Program is currently experiencing a high demand for loaner laptops, we have implemented a waitlist, which means the approval time will be longer due to the limited amount of laptops. ​SCC/OEC Laptop Loaner Program

The Laptop Loaner Program is open for the Summer Intersession 2023 semester! If you are in need of a laptop please fill out the corresponding form on Step 1. Your request will be submitted once you submit the form. Please allow 3 to 4 business days to verify your request, you will be made aware of your status via email.

If you currently have a laptop from any previous semester at Santiago Canyon College, please contact us for a return appointment. Thank you. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at LLP@sccollege.edu

Monday through Thursday by appointment only

Eligibility:

  • ​You must meet the following criteria to be eligible to participate in the program:
  • Credit students must be enrolled in 6 or more units at Santiago Canyon College.
  • Noncredit student eligibility is based on program enrollment and will be determined by OEC staff. 
  • Santa Ana College students please visit the Digital Dons website for technology needs.​
How To Get a Loaner Laptop:

Step 1: Submit a Laptop Loaner Program Participation Request by completing one of the request forms.

​Step 2:  Schedule an Appointment
Upon completion of the participation request form, your information will be reviewed by college staff. 
Once your eligibility to participate has been confirmed, you will receive an email invitation with a link to SignUpGenius, our appointment scheduling website. Simply follow the link in the email message and reserve your pick-up time.

Device Distribution Process:
Students arriving on campus will need to park in an available parking stall in parking lot 6. Due to construction, we are not allowing our outside door where we do returns and pick-ups to be opened. Our location is still the same, in the L-building, refer to the map on the site for a better visual. Please be mindful that we will only be assisting students by email only. In order to make an appointment email us at llp@sccollege.edu 
In order to be issued a loaner device, you MUST have the following with you at the time of your appointment​: 

  • Student ID Number
  • Photo ID (Student ID or CA Driver License)
  • Home or Mailing  Address
  • Phone Number 
  • Email Address
  • Completed Loaner Laptop Agreement (to be read and signed on site)

Laptop Loaner Program staff will process your request during regular operating hours.

Requests left during non-operating hours will be processed on the next business day.

Please include the following information in your email:
  • Name
  • Student ID#
  • Asset Tag Number (This is located on the white sticker on the exterior of the device)
 In order to expedite the process, please include as much detail as possible about the issue you are experiencing.​

Free Online Tools for SCC Students

Adobe is offering free access to Creative Cloud tools through May for home use by students attending schools that currently only provide lab access through May. https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/covid-19-education-labs.html

Babbel is offering three months of free language learning to U.S. students through mid-June 2020 in any of its languages: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Dutch, Turkish, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Indonesian, and English. https://welcome.babbel.com/en/student-discount/

Collegebuys offers discounted software and hardware to students, faculty and staff. http://store.collegebuys.org/student/

If specific software is needed to support instruction that did not come preinstalled on your loaner device, you can email a software request to StudentHelpDesk@sccollege.edu

If your software request is approved, SCC IT Services will load the software application as long as the software is compatible with the loaner device and a valid software license is available.

This will require you to be on campus and connected to the college's network via ethernet.​

​You will receive an equipment return notice a week prior to the end of the semester with instructions for returning your loaner equipment.

All items you received with your loan should be returned, including the charger for the device.

Returning the Laptop
Laptops will be inspected upon return.  Please plan on spending at least five minutes to complete the return. If there has been any damage beyond normal wear and tear during the loan period or if the laptop is lost or stolen, you will be liable for the cost to repair or replace it.  

Stored Files on the Loaner Device
Upon return, all user files will be removed. Please make sure you save all important files to a portable storage device.
