​Our entire counseling team is here to support you in reaching your academic, career and personal goals.
Students in all programs are welcome and our services are 100% free.Many of counseling team members speak Spanish if English is not your first language.​

Counseling Services

As a continuing education student, our counselors can provide you with free academic, career, and personal counseling online or in a confidential office setting.

Students may seek counseling for many reasons, including: 
 • planning of educational objective
 • obtaining information about employment and job skills
 • resolving personal and family problems
 • examining aptitudes, interests, and achievement
 • finding​ new careers and vocational directions
 • ​learning to adjust in a new country​
​​​​

Academic Counseling​​

Counselors can assist you in planning your educational goals. Educational options are reviewed to discover which School of Continuing Education program is right for you.  Are you ready to take classes but not sure how to begin? Our counseling team will work with you to develop an educational plan to reach your academic goals and enroll for classes.  ​

Career and Vocational Counseling

​Interested in one of our Career Education Certificates​? Counselors can assist you with providing an overview of our Career Education courses that help you succeed in your current workplace or to learn new skills for future employment. Meet with our Counselors to review your best options to complete a certificate that matches your interests and vocational goals.​

Educational Plans

An important step in reaching your academic and career goals is to create a plan for success. Our counselors can work with you do develop an educational plan to help you succeed. 

Sending Official Transcripts 

Students can send their school records using
"Parchment": https://www.parchment.com/students/order-status/

Find your school and fill in your information "CLICK HERE" for instructions on how to submit your school records to: oecadmissions@rsccd.edu

Students also have the option to send their sealed and/or stamped school records in an envelope to any of the addresses listed below.

Educational Plan FAQs

Diplomas are normally sent by mail unless other arrangements are made with the graduation office.

Select your class(es) ,then complete and submit the application. Requires access to yourpersonal email. Check your email to confirm your registration.

You will receive an email from 'Do-not-reply@sccollege.edu'. Click the link on that email to confirm your registration.  You must confirm your registration so that its forwarded to Admissions & Records for processing.  Please allow 1-3 days to receive a confirmation email when you are registered for class(es). The email will include your student ID, school email address (which is your username) and teacher's contact information and the instructions to join or start your class. 

The first time you register for a class, you will also receive an email with your student ID number and school email. You will need your school email and password to access your Self-Service or CANVAS account. 

Self-Service allows you to add more classes instantly without reapplying or wait time.  

Canvas allows you to access your online classes.​.

If you do not receive an email within 3 days contact Admissions & Records at:  oecadmissions@rsccd.edu or call (714) 628-5900.  

Click the 'REGISTER NOW' button to search for classes. You can also visit the program pages to learn about the classes each program offers. 

This service is 100% FREE.​​

You can petition for a high school diploma as soon as you have completed the last required course.  Make an online appointment as soon as possible with a counselor. ​

State certificates are auto awarded at the end of the each semester. Notification is sent via email. Where can I find my certificate? Certificates are offered in a digital format. Once you earn a certificate you will receive an email notification from “Credly/Acclaim platform”. Follow directions to create your account and download the certificate.

Diplomas are printed once a year at the end of the Spring semester. When you file your graduation petition you will receive instructions about diploma distribution. 

Search and Register for classes using Self-Service. You  will need your
school email address and password to login.

If you have difficulty using Self-Service, you can  also register using the Online Searchable Schedule.​

You don't need to bring anything to meet with a counselor. However, if you are planning to enter our High School Diploma Program, previous High School transcripts will help to develop a comprehensive educational plan. Official Transcripts can be ordered through Parchment: http://exchange.parchment.com/ 

Transcripts ordered through Parchment need to be prepared for: Santiago Canyon College Division of Continuing Education.  Students can also request transcripts from the last high school or school district attended by contacting their school offices.​

An educational plan outlines the courses and assessments you need to take to reach a specific goal each semester.​

Transcripts are available once you have completed all the required work and your graduation petition has been processed by the graduation office. Request your transcripts here​.​

An educational plan is beneficial to every student that has academic goals. Students in all of our programs (English Language, High School, College Readiness, Career Education, etc.) can ​benefit from an educational plan. ​
