There are many styles of meditation. Which one is right for you? Where do you begin? How do you create calm in your already busy mind? Meditation allows us to rest and regenerate. The beauty of meditation is that you can practice it anywhere, anytime and requires no equipment at all. Meditation is really easy to understand and practice. This class is for those new and practiced alike to meditation, those that have tried, those wishing to practice in groups and those seeking new resources and options to their existing meditation practice. Various forms of meditation will be taught. You can explore what works best for you. Mindfulness, Mantra Meditation, Visualization, Loving Kindness, Tonglen, Meditation and Sound. Each form of meditation essentially has the same ultimate goal; to encourage you to stay in the present, let go of all that extra 'stuff' cluttering up your mind, and relax. Studies show that practicing meditation as a group is far more effective than meditating alone. These studies have shown the existence of a ripple effect of peace in the surrounding environment when a group meditates together. The beauty of this group is that we include practitioners of varying levels encouraging you to take the first step or continue down your path.
