Join Honorary Chair, City of Orange Fire Chief Jack Thomas, and the faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Santiago Canyon College for a day of golf and camaraderie on a world-class course. Sponsored by the SCC Foundation, the annual Hawks Golf Tournament provides much-needed supplemental dollars for academic and enrichment programs that are necessary to maintain the high-quality educational experience that our students both deserve and need to succeed.
The SCC Foundation is a non-profit organization exclusively dedicated to providing supplemental funds that directly benefit SCC students. With the money raised from the tournament, SCCF will be able to ensure that more students, regardless of financial means, have access to high-quality programs and support services that put them on track to succeed. SCC serves a surprisingly large number of students who face significant financial and personal challenges to achieve their educational goals. The programs supported by the Foundation include the Hawks Nest Food Pantry, Emergency Student Fund, Student Leadership Institute, Guardian Scholars (for emancipated foster youth), Veterans Service Office, Annual Student Research Symposium, College Promise Scholarships, to name a few. These programs help to ensure that more students develop a trade or obtain a college degree, and become contributing members of our community.
This year’s golf tournament promises to be more than 18 holes of golf; it will be a first-class golf experience! We are bringing in new food and beverage vendors, chances to win $100,000, new games (including a Hot Shot Cannon) and great prizes. Our goal is to raise money for underfunded programs and services, like the ones above, which directly benefits our students.
We invite you to join the fun and become a sponsor! There are many sponsorship opportunities available, including the event sponsor, dinner sponsor, and the Hot Shot Cannon sponsor, to name a few. Every sponsorship level comes with its own set of benefits, including more public exposure for your organization. We are also looking for auction and raffle prizes, and items for arrival gifts for golfers. Any donation confirms your commitment to quality public education in your community. Available sponsorship packages can be downloaded here.
We also are requesting donated items for our raffle and our silent auction. Donated items are tax deductible and can really help raise much needed funds for our students. Suggested items are vacation rentals, services, and valuable products that promote your business. If you are interested in donating goods or services for this purpose, you can download the donation form here.
You can also take the lead in organizing a foursome among your clients, friends, or family. You can register a foursome, or just yourself, here. Your registration includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart rental, goodie bag, lunch, a silent auction, a tasty barbecue dinner and, above all, the opportunity to feel good about yourself knowing your helping SCC students achieve their academic and professional goals.
