HEERF I/HEERF II Reporting Data

​​Santiago Canyon College (SCC) signed and returned the certification and agreement form requesting HEERF funds to provide em​ergency grants to our students and institution for financial challenges related to their education due to the Covid-19 pandemic. HEERF I funds were received April 22, 2020. HEERF II funds were received January 18, 2021. Of the full amount awarded, no less than 50% will be used solely for emergency financial aid grants to our students​. Student may receive funds through block grant, by application, or both.

Fall 2020 Block Grant: SCC determined which students did, or will, recei​ve emergency financial aid grants and how much funding they did, or will receive as detailed in adjacent column.

$300 Block Grant offered to students who have not received CARES Funds before and who meet the eligibility requirements as follows:
  • Must be actively enrolled in/or complete​d 6 units at the time of disbursement
  • ​Must have SCC as your Home Location
  • ​Must have submitted a 20/21 FAFSA that was not rejected (have a valid calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC)​​


All students offered the Fall $300 block grant must accept the offer by attesting to one of the six conditions noted:​

Attesting to a COVID-19 Related Emergency:

By “Accepting” the CARES Act Emergency Grant on Student Self Service, the student attests they were affected by one or more of the following six COVID-19 related emergencies:

1)      You or a family member became ill

2)      You needed to become a caregiver or first responder

3)      You have an economic hardship due COVID-19

4)      There was loss of childcare for one or more of your children

5)      You have an inability to access WiFi due to closed facilities

6)      Your work hours were affected as a result of COVID-19

To all students who meet ED requirements of Title IV eligibility:

Block grant of ​$300 to students with 
EFC =<5,000 while actively enrolled in 6 or more approved college credits in Spring semester, and at least 1,104 of need.
Block grant of $600 to students with 
EFC =>5,001​ while actively enrolled in 6 or more approved college credits in Spring semester, and at least 1,104 of need.
Open application to all students who meet ED requirements of Title IV eligibility;​ and 6 or more approved college credits in Fall 2020 semester​


Spring 2021 Block Grant: SCC determined which students did, or will, receive emergency financial aid grants and how much funding they did, or will receive as detailed in adjacent column.
Prioritized Pell eligible students for HEERF II initial ​$600 block grant offered to those who meet the eligibility requirements as follows:
  • Must be actively enrolled in/or completed 3 units at the time of disbursement
  • ​Must have SCC as your Home Location
  • ​Must have submitted a 20/21 FAFSA and have a valid calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC)​​
