The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) student bus ridership program was proposed as a ballot measure by the Associated Student Government (ASG). The measure was approved by the SCC voting students. This fee provides for unlimited bus rides on all OCTA bus local fixed routes so as to contribute to a cleaner environment and eliminate parking costs for students.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I have to pay the Transportation Fee if I do not intend to ride the bus, or if all my classes are online?
A referendum was held in the Spring of 2018 where the SCC students voted to enact the fee. The fee is mandatory for any student enrolled in credit classes. There are no exemptions.
How long is the bus pass good for?
The Fall semester bus pass will be valid 1 week prior to the start of Fall until the end of Intersession.
The Spring semester bus pass will be valid 1 week prior to the start of Spring until the end of Summer.
How do I ride the bus?
A day after your first class registration, OCTA will email you instructions on how to download the OC Bus Mobile app on your Apple or Android device. (Download links also available below) Create your account and use your email to login into the app. This mobile ticket app will allow you to create a ticket to swipe and ride the bus.
What email do I use?
The email used when you applied at SCC will be the one used to log in to the OC Bus Mobile app. Your email on file can be viewed on WebAdvisor when you first attempt to register for a section.
I am enrolled in Summer/Spring Intersession, can I get a bus pass?
The bus pass is only available to students enrolled in the primary terms of Fall or Spring. Only then are students charged the Transportation Fee.
