Steps to Dual Enrollment OUSD

  • Apply online at Click “Apply Now."
    • Students need to enter their high school GPA and coursework when applying. If students leave the high school data blank on the application, they will be directed to take the Guided Self-Placement or submit high school transcripts to be placed into English, math, and courses that have prerequisites.
    • Students currently taking a college course can skip this step and go to Step 4.
    • Students who took a college course last semester can skip this step and go to Step 4.
    • New and returning students who have not taken a class in more than one semester must re-apply.
  • Summer and Fall online application available starting April 1.
  • Spring and Intersession online application available starting November 1.
  • Students will receive an email with a Student ID # that is 7 numbers and starts with a 2. This is your SCC Student ID #, which you will need for your Special Admit Form (formerly CAP Form).

  • If you plan to enroll for a course that requires a prerequisite, you must demonstrate satisfactory completion of the prerequisite or take the appropriate assessment.
  • If you completed your prerequisite in high school, submit an unofficial copy of your HS transcript or AP score along with your Special Admit Form – see Step 4 above.
  • If you have not completed Algebra II or Integrated Math III or higher, you will not be cleared to take courses that have Algebra II (Intermediate Algebra or SCC Course Name MATH-080) as a prerrequisite. Courses that require completion of MATH-080 or Algebra II include but not limited to ECON-101, ECON-102, CHEM-100, CMPR-120.
  • If you applied to SCC at a time you did not complete the Algebra II requirement but now have that completed, you will need to submit your high school transcripts to dualenrollment@scc for prerequisite clearance.
  • Refer to Prerequisite Clearance website for more information.

  • Go to Understanding Your Course Placement Recommendation for step-by-step instructions on how to access your English, math, and reading placement.
  • If your math results are 4 or higher, you have met the requirement for courses that have the MATH-080 (Intermediate Algebra) as a prerequisite.

  • Check your assigned Online Registration Date in WebAdvisor.

  • If the class is closed/full, you will put on the waiting list and notified by email. You are responsible for managing your waitlist. Refer to the Waitlist Policy for further information.
  • If you would like to register for a class AFTER the term has started, attend the first day of class and request an Add Authorization. If it is an online class, you may email the instructor to request an Add Authorization.
