Our mission is to foster student success and help students achieve these core outcomes: to learn, act, communicate, and think critically. From our founding, SCC's commitment to maintaining a high standard of excellence continues to redefine the truly student-focused experience. Diverse programs and certification paths, proven transfer successes, and state-of-the-art facilities are just the beginning for us.

It’s our belief that what you seek later in life is just as important as what you choose to do today. That’s why SCC celebrates what happens here – every course, every lecture, every test, every conversation, every achievement - every day an opportunity we never pass up.

What happens here matters.

Why SCC?

  • Award-winning faculty and dedicated staff who care about your success. Our academic advisors and success coaches are available to help you find suitable courses and stay on track.
  • Our average class size is about 27 students. Our smaller class size allows you to get to know your professors and ask questions. At SCC, you won't be lost in a sea of students. We aren't a big university where you are just a number in a giant auditorium.
  • Our campus has modern facilities with state-of-the-art equipment that maximizes learning and develops innovators and collaborators.

Tuition Cost Comparision

  • At $8,712 per year, our annual tuition is 70-75% lower than the annual tuition fees at most 4-year universities, which costs between $45,000 - $60,000.
  • By starting the first two years at SCC for the lower-division courses (required for your bachelor's degree),  our students save up to $61,710 in total tuition.

  • Unlike most universities, SCC does not require SAT/ACT scores to apply.

  • Our minimum GPA requirement is 2.0, compared to a minimum of 3.0+ at the universities.

  • Our English Language Program (ELP) does not require English Proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS score)for admission.

                • Completing any of the 28 Associate Degrees for Transfer will provide you with guaranteed transfer admission to all 23 California State Universities (CSU).
