(Orange, CA) - Culminating in a semester of hard work and dedication to their craft, Santiago Canyon College (SCC) student artists will showcase their artwork during the 11th annual student art show, May 2-28.
“We like to showcase the amazing artwork created by our students,” said SCC Art Department Chair Robbie Miller. “This is a juried show that focuses on a variety of media. We usually include about 75-90 pieces from current art students in the show.”
Without a specific theme, artists will submit pieces including paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography and digital media with any subject matter for judging by SCC art department faculty. Prizes are awarded in painting, drawing, life drawing, 2D art, 3D art, digital media and photography.
Additionally, much of the artwork is available for purchase and, through the SCC Foundation purchase awards program, some of the pieces will become part the college’s permanent collection.
The show takes place in the SCC Library and Art Gallery, 8045 E. Chapman Ave. in Orange. A reception and awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
