(Orange, CA) – The Santiago Canyon College Foundation (SCCF) has appointed David Rohlander to its board of directors. The foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is managed by a fourteen-member board whose charge is to assist in raising funds to support programs and scholarship for students at Santiago Canyon College.
Mr. Rohlander brings to the foundation many years of experience as an executive coach, public speaker, management consultant and company executive. He is currently the CEO of David Rohlander, Inc., a company offering public speaking engagements, leadership development, strategic planning and executive coaching to the private sector. Clients have included large public corporations like Honeywell, Firestone and TRW. He co-founded and served as Chairman and CEO of Rohsen Technology & Marketing, Inc. from 1997 to 2003 and, before that, he was a Regional Tax Investment Specialist for Merrill Lynch. Mr. Rohlander has also taught at the college level, including classes at Santiago Canyon College. He is the host of various podcasts on topics such as effective communication and management, and also the author of a book in the “Idiot’s Guides” series entitled Management Skills (Alpha Books/Penguin, 2013) and The CEO Code (Career Press, 2014). Among his many professional association affiliations, he is a member and past director of the National Speakers Association and a member of The Maestro Forum (which he founded).
“I am very excited that Dave is joining the SCC Foundation board. He brings an extensive set of management and strategic planning skills that will serve our board well as we work to expand the financial support our Foundation can offer to Santiago Canyon College,” said Larry Cohn, current foundation board president.
Mr. Rohlander holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and History from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, an MBA from Cal State Fullerton, and completed post graduate work in Management at the Peter F. Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war as a fighter pilot and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and achievement, among other accolades. In addition to his new volunteer role with the foundation, Mr. Rohlander was for many years a member of the Rotary Club of Orange and also served on the board of the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation. Mr. Rohlander is currently working on his third book, this one on pattern recognition.
