Demonstrate the ability to interpret significant dramatic leading characters based on goals, obstacles, and diverse tactics, using observable emotional connections, clear use of varied tactics, and a strong pursuit of character objectives.  Observable and effective display of an actor who is "playing in the moment" at all times throughout the play.  The actor's character is clearly "using" the other characters in the play as his/her character moves through their own emotional and tactical journey to achieve the character goals.

Demonstrate the ability to create and sustain a fully developed and believable character, when performing a leading role in a dramatic play presented for a public audience.Successfully create and execute a multi-dimensional and believable performance in leading role in a drama. Demonstrate knowledge of play structure and the character's journey in the play, as visible through insightful technique that includes:  Vocal interpretation, physical life, actor choices, character arc, relationship development, and stimulus response.​

Create characters based on acquired knowledge of the comedic genre, style, performance concept, role of the character[s] performed, and the role of audience feedback.Successfully portrayal of a minor or supporting characters] in a comedic play presented for public presentation, based on the ability to discuss the play and its style, memorize lines and/or blocking, creating characters that are comedically appropriate to the play, and demonstrate an understanding of character development and process. Display the character physically, vocally, and imaginatively as required by the text and the production concept,

SLO 1

Demonstrate an understanding of the use of concept, analysis, stage terminology, character choice, staging, and critique as applied to one-act plays developed for public performance.Each phase of a play's structural development, character development, and staging needs will be assessed by critique and analysis.  In addition, all acting, and production elements will be evaluated step-by-step throughout the creative process.

SLO 1

Demonstrate an understanding of the roles of a chorus member, ensemble member, and supporting player in a Musical Theatre production, and to create the multiple singing, dancing, and acting characterizations often required when working in musicals.Each student will be individually evaluated on his/her memorization of lyrics, lines, and choreography, as well as the level of growth and success in the acting performance.​

Create believable singing, dancing, characters based on their knowledge of character development, technical skills, and performance needs.     Students will be evaluated on the successful integration of song, dance, and character interpretation for each role performed.  Students must will submit written work demonstrating their understanding of character[s], and then must translate those characterizations to the stage.

SLO 1

Show a consistent through-line in the presentation of lyrics, lines, and choreography, based on their knowledge of character development, vocal and movement technical skills, and performance needs.   Students will be evaluated on the successful integration of song, dance, and the creative, detailed presentation of a major character in a musical for public performance.  Students must will submit written work demonstrating their understanding of internal character process, rehearsal objectives, and skills assessment.  They must show growth in process and technical skills, as shown in rehearsals and performance alike.​

Demonstrate the ability to create and sustain a believable, engaging, and entertaining characterizations while performing a leading role in a Musical Theatre production for public performance.  Each student will be individually evaluated on his/her ability to create and sustain a fully realized leading role in a musical.  Each student must demonstrate personal growth and the successful portrayal of a creative and dimensional character, as well as demonstrate comprehension and delivery of the play's lyrics and choreography.

Demonstration of a commitment to the needs of the production.​

Demonstrate knowledge of the purpose and function for each stage of the creative process, rehearsal process, and performance process. Demonstration of efficiency and cooperation of duties during the production run.​
