We want to pay you up to $10,000 to be the best student you can be.

The S-STEM Scholarship was created by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Some of this program's main objectives are:

  1. Increase the number of STEM majors enrolled as full-time students of 12 units or more.
  2. Reduce or eliminate overwhelming work hours.
  3. Have more time to take part in FREE services on campus such as: SI, STAR Center, MaSH, and faculty office hours.
  4. Students in the program will graduate or transfer with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Each recipient will be paired up with a mentor (Professors Nahla El Said, Denise Foley, Cindy Swift, Jeff Wada or STEM Counselor Ann Cass) to provide support and guidance towards the student's goals while at SCC.

A common thought by students: “It's too good to be true." IT IS TRUE! Applying is not difficult. If you need help with applying, please feel free to contact any of the mentors mentioned above.

If you want to talk to students who are in the program, we can get you in touch with them so that they can share their experiences while in the scholarship program.

Please view the video below, created by Professor Wada about how we can help you succeed in your STEM major:
