Math Success Center (MSC) FAQs

How much will it cost?

The Math Success Center is a zero-cost service to all students! It may be required to pay Student Services fees (as a part of the student application process, including health fees) and purchase a parking pass if needed.​ 

What can I expect when I go to the Math Success Center?

Math faculty and math tutors are available to assist students with homework, concepts, or other questions from your math class. The MSC also offers study rooms with white boards for small groups to collaborate and learn. Please note that the MSC does not provide private tutoring.

When is the last day to register for the Math Success Center?

Students may register for the MSC at any time during the semester before the end of the last week of classes.

What​ is required to get a Pass (P) for the Math Success Center?

To earn a Pass (P), students complete at least one activity and attend the MSC for at least 10 hours.

Where can I find the activities for the MSC?​

All activities are on Canvas. For access, click on the Canvas link from the SCC home page. Follow the directions for first-time users or log in if you are a returning user. The MSC course, MATHCE 100 is listed on your dashboard. Click into the course and then click on MSC Activities. Reminder emails are sent periodically  for you to complete activities and directions for accessing them.
