General Education is often a critical part of a student's overall coursework at SCC.  SCC offers three General Education patterns:

Plan A is designed to meet the general education requirements for a local Associate Degree (Associate of Arts - AA, and Associate of Science - AS) from SCC.  (NOTE: This plan is not designed for Transfer)

Plan B is designed to meet the general education requirements for AA/AS and Associate Degree for Transfer from SCC, as well as meet transfer requirements for the California State University (CSU) system.

Plan C - known as "IGETC" - is designed to meet the general education requirements for AA/AS/ADT options at SCC, as well as meet transfer requirements for the University of California (UC) system and the California State University (CSU) system.

Considering transfer to a Private University and wondering which GE Plan to use?  The answer: It Depends.  Please connect with SCC Counseling to discuss your goals and detemine which GE pattern is right for you!
