To receive the Certificate of Completion in Survey and Mapping Sciences, students must complete the required core courses. To receive the Associate of Science Degree, students must complete a minimum of 60 units that include the certificate program and general education requirements with an overall GPA of 2.0. A minimum of 12 units must be completed at Santiago Canyon College and at least 6 of those units must be in courses required for the major. It is strongly recommended students consult with a counselor before beginning a degree program.
Survey/Mapping Sciences - Land Surveying Degree (11906)
and Certificate of Achievement (21668)
The associate degree and certificate program in Survey/Mapping provides the student a thorough background in land surveying and mapping in addition to an introduction to collection, manipulation, formatting and mapping of geospatial data. The successful graduate of this program will have the technical expertise necessary for an entry level position in the fields of Geographic Information Systems, Land Surveying, and Digital Photogrammetry. The program also assists those students preparing for the State Land Surveyor-In-Training and Land Surveyor’s Exams. The state Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists will grant one year of experience credit for students completing an Associate Degree in Survey/Mapping Sciences.
