LAUREN BORAK, FAAALIGA MIKAELE SELECTED OEC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

Lady Hawk standouts Lauren Borak and Faaaliga Mikaele earned All-Conference honors this past week. Borak (1st team) and Mikaele (2nd team) lead the Hawks throughout the season. Mikaele will be transferring out after this year, while Borak still has one more year at Santiago Canyon. ​ 


LADY HAWKS SWEEP SANTA ANA AT HOME

Your Lady Hawks earned their third win of the season this Friday evening with a sweep of Santa Ana. The Hawks had come from behind wins in sets one and two, down 24-21 where they eventually won 27-25 and 26-24. In game two the Hawks hit 212% as a team, which was one of their best percentages on the season. Faaaliga Mikaela led the team hitting 226%, registering 10 digs, and 1 ace on the night. The Hawks will face Saddleback College (away 9/26) and Irvine Valley College (home 9/28) next week. 


HAWKS FALL TO CYPRESS AT CYPRESS

The Hawks traveled to Cypress who is currently ranked #12 in the country. Despite playing a hard-fought match the Hawks fell in three sets. Santiago looks to rebound this Friday night at home against Santa Ana College. 


HAWKS SWEEP SAN DIEGO MIRAMAR ON THE ROAD

September 12, 2018

The Hawks got their second win of the season this evening by sweeping San Diego Miramar on the road (25-22, 26-24, and 25-9). The Lady Hawks tallied up 27 kills, 22 assists, 9 service aces, and 51 digs. Captain, Faaaliga Mikaela, led the way hitting .265%, 2 service aces, and 21 digs. The Hawks close out the preseason with a 2-7 record and open up league play Friday, September 14 at home versus Golden West. 


HAWKS SWEEP SOUTHWESTERN AT HOME

September 7, 2018

The Hawks swept Southwestern 25-14, 25-15, 25-14 earning their first win of the season. Freshman Lauren Borak led the way on the offensive front recording 10 kills in her first match with SCC. Other stand out performances included freshman Naomi Ruiz who recorded 10 digs and 10 aces as well as freshman Faze Scanlan who had 4 aces. The Lady Hawks are back in action tomorrow, September 8, where they will head south to Mt. San Jacinto facing Imperial Valley and Mt. San Jacinto.
