@ONE offers a variety of professional development opportunities, including free or low-cost facilitated online courses.  I signed up for the free self-paced Introduction to Teaching with Canvas course initially, but later decided to sign up for the free 4-week facilitated version of the course.  I wanted to experience the course as my students would, interacting with peers, meeting with my instructor during online office hours using conferencing software, and submitting assignments before the 11 PM deadlines. This course is great if you are new to Canvas. A course sandbox is provided where you can practice building a home page, develop a content page, set up a discussion forum, and create a quiz. The instructor is readily available offering support and providing constructive feedback. There are four more sections offered on their web site. The sections often fill quickly so plan accordingly. Optional professional development / continuing education credits are available by dual enrolling in TEC 1809 at Fresno Pacific University. An additional cost applies for FPU enrollment.

There are low-cost @ONE courses available as well. I have signed up for an intermediate level 4-week course, 10-10-10: Communication That Matters. These three important "tens" consist of the first 10 minutes, the first 10 hours, and the first 10 days of interacting with students and setting them up for success in an online course.
