WebAdvisor's replacement system, “Self-Service," will be run in parallel this Summer 2020. This means that WebAdvisor will still be around, but many of the links (roster, add codes, etc.) will be redirected to Self-Service's Faculty module. This will facilitate the active use of Self-Service in order to expose any problems with the system before the large term of Fall begins. If no serious problems arise, then WebAdvisor will rendered offline starting 2021.
Self-Service demos have been given at Academic Senate, Technology Committee, and Enrollment Management Committee meetings. Additional demos are planned, to include noncredit. Enhancements have been recorded and forwarded to ITS for consideration. Unfortunately, the Self-Service platform does not lend itself to customizations. So enhancements will be limited.
Numerous Faculty have volunteered to test the Self-Service Faculty module during this Spring semester. The interface is mobile-friendly and easy to use. New functionality of note are Attendance Taking screens and simple Add Authorizations (no more cutouts). Training materials are anticipated for May 2020.
