MATH 219H: Honors Statistics and Probability

Prerequisite: MATH 080, 08​6 or qualifying profile from the mathematics placement profile and a course equivalent to MATH 080 or 086 and a high school or college GPA of 3.0 or above

This honors course is an enhanced format for the first course in statistics and probability by using a seminar approach, applying statistical software and presenting individual research. This course includes descriptive statistics, graphical displays of data, probability and sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, regression, contingency tables, ANOVA and non-parametric statistics, with applications designed around the individual interests of students. Includes the use of technology.
