Whether they're signing a high-profile speech for the mayor of New York City, or participating in a rap battle on late-night TV, ASL interpreters are more popular and more in demand than ever!

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the need for qualified ASL interpreters is growing “much faster than average" when compared to all other occupations. In fact, in California, occupational growth in this sector is expected to reach 20% by 2026, adding an average of 1,220 new jobs every year. At the highest end, interpreters can make upwards of $115,000 dollars per year.

To meet this growing need, SCC's Certificate of Achievement in ASL gives students the linguistic competency they need to enter a formal interpreter training program.
