Job Fairs are an important part of the job search and recruiting process today. Unfortunately, many candidates fail to take full advantage of them because of lack of preparation or misconceptions. Here are some tips to make job fairs work for you:
- Don't waste time attending the wrong fair.
- Take your resumes, transcripts, and any other documents which demonstrate your qualifications. Dress appropriately.
- Plot your strategy, expect to be evaluated, and ask for their business card. Job down notes to reference for later.
- Use fairs as your own screening device and obtain enough information about most of them to determine if follow up is worthwhile.
