Lost or Stolen Check

​​​​INSTRUCTIONS TO REPORT A LOST OR STOLEN CHECK

Grant checks are only mailed to students who did not select either Debit Card or ACH (direct deposit). The checks are mailed an estimated 5-7 days after the Blackboard Funding date to the address on file with Blackboard Pay​ (See this disbursement schedule for dates.)

 

To report a lost or stolen check you must contact the Financial Aid Office at (714) 628-4876.

 

Lost or Stolen Check Policy:

  • ​​A LOST CHECK CANNOT BE REPORTED UNTIL 10 DAYS AFTER THE ESTIMATED MAILING PERIOD. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. If the check has not been cashed, a stop payment will be placed on the check and it will be disbursed on the next regularly scheduled disbursement date.
  • IF THE CHECK HAS BEEN CASHED, a copy of the check will be sent to the student. If it is determined that the check was cashed fraudulently, a Bank Affidavit​​ must be completed by the student in order for a fraud investigation to begin. If the check was cashed fraudulently, the student will be issued a replacement check
