Student Learning Outcome
Students who attend & complete the hands-on exercise will be able to use the FIND BOOKS and FIND ARTICLES library links to locate resources for their course assignments.
Objectives
Students will:
1. identify & explain the use of FIND BOOKS & FIND ARTICLES links;
2. conduct a variety of searches on a given topic;
3. refine the search results using various database tools;
4. differentiate between newspapers, magazines, & journals; and
5. identify the components necessary to create a Works Cited page.
Citing Your Sources
Student Learning Outcome
Students who attend & complete the hands-on exercise will be able to create a Works Cited list using NoodleBib, a web-based citation tool generator.
Objectives
Students will:
1. define plagiarism & identify tips for avoiding it;
2. explain the reasons for documenting sources in an academic environment
3. recognize APA & MLA as documentation styles;
4. use NoodleBib to create citations; and
5. generate a Works Cited list & open the list in Microsoft Word.
