Santiago Canyon College Hosts Water Workers

Orange—Santiago Canyon College hosted more than 650 water industry employees and exhibitors from across Southern California for professional development and advanced training Wednesday, August 18.

This was the eighth year the American Water Works Association held the Water Industry Education Day event at Santiago Canyon College. The program included 80 sessions to help the water workers meet their professional development required license contact hours.

“SCC is well known across California for its Water Utility Science program,” said Tricia Evans, dean of Career and Technical Education. “This day lets water industry professionals get to know the programs, instructors and campus here at SCC to see what’s available for their continuing education.”

The SCC Water Utility Science program is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind at any community college in California.

Santiago Canyon College is a public community college of Rancho Santiago Community College District, serving the residents of Anaheim Hills, Orange, Tustin and Villa Park. The college provides education for academic transfer and careers, courses for personal and professional development, and customized training for business and industry.
