The SCC TEACH Club is a great way to learn more about the teaching profession and have fun, while meeting other students who share the same interests. The club offers a variety of academic and social activities for students who are planning careers in teaching. Some of those activities include:
Networking with other future teachers
Attending teaching/leadership conferences
Participating in scholarship fundraising for SCC TEACH members
Becoming involved in community service projects
Participating in the Associated Student Government and the Inter-Club Council
SCC TEACH Club also conducts several fund raising events to raise money for club activities and the Teachers for Tomorrow Scholarship Fund. Funds are generated through the clubs participation in Fall Fest, Club Rush, Spring Fest, and additional events implemented by the club. The club has been awarded grant funding through the Student California Teachers Association (SCTA).
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k
SCC TEACH actively seeks opportunities to be involved in various community and charitable events/organizations throughout the year. Serving the community while establishing bonds with fellow club members is a rewarding experience for all!
Panorama Elementary Fall Carnival
Members of the club also attend teacher conferences through both the Pathways to Teaching Program and the SCTA. As members of the teaching club, students have the option of being a part of the SCTA, who organize several teaching conferences a year, at a minimal cost to its members.
