All students in the program have the opportunity to participate in Pathways to Teaching activities. These activities allow future teachers to foster a sense of community and interact with other students who share the same interests in the teaching profession.
The Pathways program offers on-campus workshops throughout the year that focus on issues important to future teachers. Some of the past workshops include: C-BEST Test Preparation, UCI Teach, Pathways New Student Orietation, as well as teacher preparation seminars, focusing on the credentialing requirements for elementary and single-subject teaching. CSU Fullerton & UCI Appointments
The Pathways program has a club for future teachers called, "SCC Teachers for Tomorrow". This is a great way to learn more about the teaching profession and have fun, while meeting other students who share the same interests.
The club offers a variety of academic and social activities for students who are planning careers in teaching. Some of those activities include teaching conferences, scholarship fund raisers, book drives, and volunteer reading to local elementary school children. Be sure to participate in this club. For more information, click on the Teachers for Tomorrow Club tab located at the left of this page.

Students have the opportunity to participate in specialized events geared towards students interested in becoming elementary, secondary, or special education teachers.
Some events include the SCC Future Teachers Conference, UC Irvine Math & Science Teach Program, the CSU Fullerton Future Teacher Mixer, and leadership conferences conducted by the Student California Teachers Association (SCTA). These events are a great opportunity for students to get more information on the many paths to becoming a teacher and skills needed to be an effective educator.
