Working with the Business & Career Technical Education Team at Santiago Canyon College, Barry McCarthy helped design and implement the Project Management Certificate Program at SCC. Barry is also the instructor for the introductory and applied courses in Project Management.
During his career, Barry has managed a wide array of projects in field service operations and information technology. Prior to his management responsibilities, Barry worked as a Field Service Engineer in Europe for over five years.
During his career, Barry continues to be involved with projects of all types and sizes and excels at the project proposals. Barry has teaching and training experience in all facets of business, has served as a training resource to his faculty colleagues, and has been a program design consultant to several colleges. Barry serves on several foundations and studied Computer Science, Psychology, and Business prior to earning his Masters in Management.
Barry stresses “in-the-classroom” learning where students actively integrate professional/life experiences in meaningful and fun ways.
Time and opportunity permitting, guest speakers provide additional expert-level insight during the semester.
