Hawks Defeat Saddleback in OEC Game

            The Santiago Canyon College Softball Team defeated visiting Saddleback College 9-7 in an Orange Empire Conference matchup on Wednesday.  The win improves the Hawks overall record to 7-1 and their OEC record to 1-1.  Alyssa Slater recorded the win the in circle throwing a complete game and picking up her third win of the year. (more)

Hawks Out Hit Ventura

The Santiago Canyon College Softball Team defeated visiting Ventura College 15-8 on Thursday.  The win improves the Hawks overall record to 6-1 with Alyssa Slater picking up her second win in the circle to improve to 2-0 on the season.  SCC pounded out 21 hits on the day with 8 team members having multiple hits in the game.  (more)

Hawks Sweep Double Header

The Santiago Canyon College Softball Team walked away with a pair of wins on the road at Citrus College on Thursday.  The first game was a 15-14 win and the second game was a 9-4 win that improves the Hawks to 5-0 on the year. (more)​

Hawks Mercy San Diego City College

The Santiago Canyon College Softball Team defeated San Diego City College on Wednesday in a non-conference game.  SCC won 22-0 in just 5 innings with the game being called due to the mercy rule.  The win improves the Hawks overall record to 3-0 to start the season.  Kristen Piazza picked up her second win throwing a complete game shutout while allowing 4 hits and striking out 4. (more)

Hawks Take Down Mesa 7-1

In the final game of the Glendale Tournament, the Hawks defeated San Diego Mesa College 7-1.  Freshman Sydney Doherty (3-for-3) and Amber Reinke (2-for-3) led the offensive charge for the Hawks.  Kristen Piazza picked up her first collegiate win pitching 3 innings while the Hawks played stellar defense allowing only 1 run.  (more)

Olague Hits for the Cycle as SCC Defeats Sacramento City

The Hawks opened up the season with a game against Sacramento City College who they defeated to capture the 2016 CCCAA State Championship title.  SCC came away with a 6-3 victory and Alyssa Slater picked up her first win in the circle. (more)

Hawks Claim Conference Title

With two games to go in the Orange Empire Conference, the 2016 Hawks team claimed their thirteenth consecutive OEC title for Santiago Canyon with a convincing win against a hard-working Norco team.

Camarco Named OEC Women’s Coach of the Year

Head Softball Coach, Lisa Camarco, was named the Coach of the Year for all female sports in the Orange Empire Conference.  The award comes after Camarco lead the Hawks to their first State Championship in the program’s short 10 year history.  With an overall record of 41-9, the Hawks posted 44% of their wins by way of the mercy rule.   Several members of the team received major awards at the state level including an Academic All-American, 2 All-Southern California Selections, 2 All-State Selections, An All-American, as well as all 4 major awards at the State Championship including Most Valuable Player, Most Valuable Pitcher, Most Valuable Offensive Player, and Most Valuable Defensive player. (more)

Hawks Honored at Angel Game

The Santiago Canyon College Softball Team was honored for winning the 2016 CCCAA State Championship on Saturday night prior to the start of the Angels game against the Texas Rangers.  The Hawks were escorted down onto the field where the ceremony was held at home plate.  The announcer listed the many accomplishments of the program and presented them with a commemorative plaque for their outstanding achievements.  SCC defeated Sacramento City College 8-0 in just 5 innings to capture the programs first title in just its 10th year of existence.  Thank you to the Angels Baseball Organization for acknowledging our Hawks!

Camarco and Staff Tabbed NFCA CalJC National Coaching Staff of the Year​

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After guiding Santiago Canyon to its first California Community College Athletic Association state championship, head coach Lisa Camarco, along with assistant coaches Brandice Cutspec, Keely Decker and Marc Kendrick have been named the 2016 NFCA CalJC National Coaching Staff of the Year. State Championship Honors

Several members of the 2016 State Championship Santiago Canyon College Softball Team were honored for their outstanding contributions.  During an Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 3 members of the SCC team were honored including Emili Olague who received All-State and All-American accolades, Kaitlyn Lanksbury who received All-State Honors and Lauren Hammond who received Academic All-American Honors.  (more)
